Adding different kinds of media to pages is a great way to enrich the content on your site.
Most video services, like YouTube, or Vimeo, allow you to copy and paste URL to your theme, and the media will be added. Others, like SoundCloud, PDF, Google Docments, and Twitter, require embedding.
What is embedding exactly?
Embedding is a simple way to place desired media files to your site, without uploading them to your server. Shortly put, embedding is copying a small portion of code from the content sharing service to your site.
When it comes to embedding a file, all you need to do is open the file you want to embed in your browser and search for the Share option/button. Once you find it, click on the Sharing option and search for the Embed option. Then, copy the entire code and paste it into the desired page or post. After publishing/saving changes, the file will appear on the page or in the post.
