Adding different kinds of media to your website’s pages is a great way to make your site’s content more appealing to the users.
Most video services, like YouTube, or Vimeo, allow you to copy and paste URL to your theme, and the media will be added. Others, like SoundCloud, PDF, Google Documents, and Twitter, require embedding.
What is embedding exactly?
Embedding is a simple way to place desired media files to your site, without uploading them to your server. Shortly put, embedding means copying a small portion of code from the content sharing service to your site.
When it comes to embedding a file, all you need to do is open the file you want to embed in your browser and search for the Share option/button. Once you find it, click on the Sharing option and search for the Embed option. Then, copy the entire code and paste it into the desired page or post. After publishing/saving changes, the file will appear on the page or in the post.
